Sander Plug
Hello my name is Sander Plug and I am a Dutch male. I was born on the 26th September 1973.
That was the first time I saw my town Noordwijk and I have been living there since, exept from my graduation period in Malaysia. Since the end of 1998 I have my own appartment and I am living here happily.

The town of Noordwijk (blue square) is located at the west coast of the Netherlands, just above the city of The Hague and about 50 kilometers from our capital Amsterdam.

Hobbies
At the moment I have not so much time anymore for my hobbies. But in the little freetime I have I like to do the following things:  writing letters to people all over the world, fitness, riding horses, video-editing of  my holidays on the PC, eating out and going out.

Passion
My big passion though is travelling. I like to travel around the whole world, meet new people, visit places and ofcourse to have lots of fun and do all the things I want. This I do as many times and as long as I can.

Travel Information
Of all my travels and countries I have been to, I like the South-East Asian region the most. Last June 1996 till half January 1997 I stayed in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. I stayed there together with my  friend William van Munsteren.

We were doing our graduation project there with CDC Internet, where we configured the Domain Name Server (DNS), configured mail/WWW servers and wrote a Malaysia based Search Engine. The graduation project started 2 September 1996 and ended 13 December 1996.
We learned a lot about IT, programming, Malaysia and ourselfs. We had a great time there and I would not have missed it for the world.

In our free time, we were fortunate enough to visit Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong,  China, Macau and Indonesia. Information of my travel to South-East Asia, and all the other places where I have been to, can be found at my Travel Information Page.

Education/Work
After the graduation project with CDC Internet and the presentation at the Polytechnick University in Rijswijk I received my Bachelor degree (ingenieur) in Telematics with honours

In July 1997 I started working as an AIX UNIX system administrator with IBM System Facility Services B.V. a subsidary of IBM Nederland N.V.. Late 1998 the company was incorporated completely by IBM Nederland N.V. where I am currently working as Senior IT Specialist doing AIX, HACMP and Tivoli projects.
Recently I certified myself as an IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert (RS/6000 - AIX - HACMP).
