This is a photo of my wife Ruby, a beautiful Bidayuh girl born in May 1976. Ruby lived in a small village (kampung) near Kuching.

In the early evening at the end of August 1996 I went with my friends to the "Open Air Market" in the centre of Kuching for a meal at one of the many small restaurants there. There I met Ruby, who was eating there too with some of her friends.

I was in Malaysia from June 1996 till January 1997 for holiday and my graduation project for my study telematics.

In the beginning of September we went out for the first time and it really "connected" between us and we have been going out since. She is special to me and I love her very much.

Right is a picture taken when we where eating diner for my birthday with some friends. Half January 1997 I had to go back to my tcountry, the Netherlands to do a graduation presentation. I missed her very much and I was happy whenever I could talk to her on he phone, although it can be only for a short time.

Half May 1997 she came to the Netherlands for the first time. She stayed here for three months and I showed her around here. We did lots of nice things and I was sad that se had to leave again.

Fortunately after a couple of months, blood, sweat and tears arranging all the paperwork, Ruby could come for the second time to me, December 1997. It was a lot of pain to arrange the visa and so on, but we managed.

She is living here ever since with me in our own appartment in Noordwijk. December 1998 and January 1999 went back to Malaysia, this time together with my parents. We had a wonderful trip and a family reunion.

Recently we have came back from a 6 week trip to Malaysia and Australia from December 2000 until half January 2001.

After being back for a few days we already are planning the trip for next time (end of 2002 until beginning 2003). This time we try to stay there for 3 months if possible. We can not wait going back again since we like ith there very much...
